2009 BAP at Beverly Homecoming 2008-2009 City Hall Records Project BAP took on the project, in 2008, of building an inventory and reorganizing the ancient records in the Beverly City Hall. John Thomson, First Baptist Church is spearheading this all volunteer project for BAP with assistance from Margaret Alfonso and other BAP members 2005 Annual Report2005 ENHC and MHRAP GrantsIn the summer of 2005 the Beverly Archives Project applied for and received two grants: one from the Essex National Heritage Commission (ENHC), and a second from the Massachusetts Historical Records Advisory Board (MHRAP) Documentary Heritage Grant program. 2004 BAP ExhibitIn the summer of 2004, BAP members mounted an exhibit featuring items from the various organizations at the Beverly Public Library during Beverly’s Homecoming program. The exhibit later was moved to the Beverly Senior Center and will eventually be scanned and archived as a permanent record. The purpose of the exhibit is to showcase to the citizens of Beverly historical highlights form the various institutions, thus educating the public to the rich historical tapestry that is the city of Beverly. 2003 MHRAB GrantIn 2003, the Beverly Archives Project applied for and received a $4800 grant from the Massachusetts Historical Records Advisory Board to hire an archivist to survey the historical records of various religious, public and private institutions in Beverly. It was the first in Massachusetts to coordinate records from municipal, religious and educational organizations. There are currently fourteen institutions, many of which participated in the survey by archivist, Kristen Kobialka.
