The Beverly Archives Project (BAP) held its regular meeting on April 6, 2006 at 7:00 P.M. at the Beverly Public Library.

Present and representing the following organization were:

Second Congregational Church

Temple B’nai Abraham

First Parish Church, UU David Shawn, Charlie Wainwright

Endicott College

Also Present: Denise Davis-Wareham

1.         The minutes of the March meeting were reviewed, and APPROVED.

2.         John Thomson distributed a financial report through March 31 showing $180.02 in the treasury. The financial report was APPROVED.

Polly Armstrong delivered a payment of dues for the Girl Scouts at the meeting.

3.         A report from Kobi was read out loud by Carol Mori concerning on-site visits to the member institutions under the grant. All visits (including follow-ups should be completed by May.

4.         Barbara Broudo reported on the interim report on the grant, the possibility of a representative from St. Mary’s, and her discovery at the Phillips Library in Salem of blue books for Beverly going back into the late 1800’s listing social organizations, churches etc.

5.         Carol Mori reported further on the progress of ordering supplies from the other grant, of which there is about $317 remaining, including amounts needed to purchase a “disaster response wheel” for each institution.

6.         The disaster  “reaction pack” was discussed and members volunteered to bring various items to the next meeting or drop them off in the BAP room at the library [see attached list].

7.         A mock-up of the 2007 calendar was circulated for editing. Carol will try to work up a photo montage for the missing month for St. Mary’s.

The calendar will not be sold, since we are not an IRS-recognized tax exempt entity, but offered for a suggested donation of $15 each. Each institution should consider seeking advance subscriptions from their membership. Hopefully a finished copy will be available to each institution for display for this purpose.

8.         David Shawn submitted a redraft of the mission statement for BAP which was reviewed and edited. Carol will incorporate this into an updated brochure for our review at the next meeting, if possible.

9          New business.
