The Beverly Archives Project (BAP) held its October meeting at the Beverly City Hall at 7 P.M.

Present were:

Thad  Outerbridge -  St. Peter’s  Episcopal  Church

Elaine  Israelsohn -  Temple  B'nai  Abraham

Carol  Mori -  Dane  Street  Church

John  Suminsby – Second  Congregational  Church

1.    Welcome to all old and new members

2.         The November minutes were approved.

3.         Treasurer's Report -  As of the end of December,  balance is  $ 929.87.

4.     Calendars -  175  Calendars were printed.

32  Calendars have been paid for.

Carol will e-mail  a request  that calendar sales

that have not been turned in  be sent to John Thomson.

It  was decided that the remaining calendars will be given away.

John will distribute some to the Senior Center and the City Hall.

Put on hold was whether to have a 2009 Calendar.

5.    BevCam – John Thomson attended a BevCam Board Meeting.

They liked the fact that we have a history of getting grants.

They are already in the process of digitizing their tapes.

There was talk about various programs, but no decisions were made.

For $35 BAP can become a member of BevCam.  BAP members  can then

be trained to make videos.  Trainees would meet in four sessions to

learn how to use BevCam equipment.

Once trained,  BAP can go in and create their own video.

We can also take their equipment off-site

Carol Mori is already a member and has taken the course.

John Thomson has already taken the course.

(November Minutes indicate that Charles Wainwright and Darren Brown

expressed an interest in taking the course.)

6.         Outreach and Education

We should emphasize that our mission is to train people to know how to preserve

their archives.   The Beverly League of Women Voters, the Beverly Guild of Artists,

and Desjardins have expressed an interest in receiving such training.

7.    How to develop workshops

We could develop a Video via BevCam to demonstrate from a box of  “stuff”

Respectfully Submitted,       Elaine G. Israelsohn
