Beverly Archive Project Minutes May 1, 2008 The Beverly Archives Project (BAP) held its regular meeting at 7 PM at the Beverly Public Library, chaired by John Thomson. Present were:
1. The April 10th Minutes were approved after changing Polly Armstrong’s representation from Spar & Spindle G.S. Council Museum to Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Council Museum. 2. Treasurer’s Report - There was one expense of $95.40 for our Website. The balance is $ 1, 154.47. 3. Charlie Wainwright is trying to arrange a BAP Tour of the Massachusetts Archives located in Boston. 4. Fund Raising - Barbara Broudo suggested that we develop a three or four session revenue producing course which would be given through our Website. Carol Mori reminded us that we already have a course and syllabus. It can be put on BevCam, and we would own the rights to it. The course would be reasonably priced and geared to small organizations and individuals who would be interested in learning how to preserve organizational records, or family papers and pictures, or for example, how to box a wedding dress. It was suggested that we could generate affiliate links with such archival providers as University Products. This would be consistent with our mission to train people and organizations to know how to preserve their archives. We may have to register as a non-profit 501.c3 organization because of fund raising activities. 5. Archives Alive - Friday, May 16 , 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Beverly Library, co-sponsored by BAP. It was decided to plug BAP by handing out our Brochure and giving away pencils with Beverly Archives Project printed in gold. 6. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, June 5.
