Beverly Archive Project Minutes September 4, 2008 The Beverly Archives Project (BAP) held its regular meeting at 7 PM at the Beverly Public Library, chaired by John Thomson. Present were:
1. The June 5th Minutes were approved. 2. Treasurer’s Report - Our present balance is $1013.60 . 3. Archives Alive – This is the program held on May 15th at the Beverly Public Library which BAP co-sponsored. Carol and John are preparing 2 one-half hour videos of this program to be shown on BevCam. 4. City of Beverly Archives - It was suggested that we ask the City Clerk if they would like our help to organize their archives that are in the City Hall Basement. How do/can we help them ? 5. Elizabeth Thompson – Nancy suggested that perhaps we could have Elizabeth Thompson conduct a session with us to help us learn how to handle photographs for archival purposes. Of particular interest would be group pictures where individual identification has not been possible. 6. Beverly Historical Society – It was felt that BAP should meet at the Society so that we can become aware of what they have in their archives. 7. Future meeting possibilities: October 2nd – Meet with Dan Driscoll, who is a volunteer working on the archives at the Beverly City Hall. November 6th – Meet with Elizabeth Thompson. Nancy will talk to her. December 4th – Have a meeting at the Beverly Historical Society. Darren will arrange. January 8th – Oral History – Michael Kilhorn the speaker. Nancy will arrange. 8. Our next meeting will be on Thursday, October 2 .
